The guests were taken by coach from Trinity College to Powerscourt Estate in County Wicklow, just outside of Dublin. There, they were greated by endless silver trays of champagne and Kir Royal. The lilting sound of a traditional Irish harp carried through the air. Guests wandered down the terraces and were soon lost in the magnificent sculpted gardens.

Allen called all the guests into the Powerscourt mansion were they were escorted upstairs to the main ballroom. Dinner began after all the formal introductions. The fashion in which dinner was served was a ceremony in and of itself, the Fitzer staff were nothing less than superb!

Following dinner, the guests retired to the reception room for after dinner drinks. Mark and Tanya took this moment to make the first cut into their wedding cake. The guests were invited back into the ballroom where Mark and Tanya surprised them all with their first dance. They did a choreographed two-step to Shania Twain's "From This Moment On", a dance which they had been practicing for weeks before!

Then the evening went from serious ceremony to serious party as The Sean Norman Ceili Band took the stage. Irish and Americans danced their feet off...even if they didn't really know what they were doing. :-) Guests were given short breaks from the Ceili dancing to boogie to toons from the 60's and 70's. During one of these breaks they were served the three different flavors of wedding cake.

The dancing went on until almost 1am when the guests finally headed out to the buses, although most guests wanted to stay and dance some more!
