Ceremony

The ceremony was held at 2 PM on Friday, September 3, 1999 at Trinity College Chapel, Dublin, Ireland. The chapel holds special significance to Mark as he graduated from Trinity College. Father Ciaran O'Carroll and Reverend Chalmer Mastin, Tanya's Uncle, officiated the ceremony.

The bridesmaids and ring bearer preceded the bride down the aisle to Pachbel's Cannon in D Major. As they took their places the grand organ began a triumphant introduction to Wagner's Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin and the large wooden doors at the top of the aisle were opened. With the sun illuminating her veil and creating a magical glow about them, Tanya began her walk down the aisle on her father's arm.

Father Ciaran began with a warm welcome. Patrick Crosbie and Lawrence Mastin gave wonderful and inspiring readings from the Book of Sirach and Corinthians. Revered Chalmer Mastin delivered the homily, which deeply moved all in attendance.

After Tanya and Mark exchanged their vows, from memory, Father Ciaran introduced them as "the newest married couple in the world!" Mark and Tanya signed the registry to Sheep May Safely Graze, J.S. Bach and made their grand exit to Mendelssohn's Wedding March.
