Yikes! Almost four years since I last updated this page! I've create a new LEGO website that contains my new projects.

30 October, 2003

Updated my Final Cut Pro editing techniques page. I'm hoping to grow this section over time as I become more experienced with Final Cut Pro 4.

I've spent two days playing around with Soundtrack from Apple. It is a music composing program for movie soundtracks that allows non-musicians like myself to make real music. My brother (a real musician) played with it for 15 minutes and declared "I want this!"

I've put up my first two sample tracks on my new Music page.

My wonderful wife (and family) bought me Final Cut Pro 4 for my birthday. Soundtrack, LiveType, improvements to the editing suite, oh so much to play with!!

6 May, 2003

I've updated a lot of sections with new and fresh content. The newest addition is my Mac OS X section where I have some sample code I've been writing in Cocoa and Objective-C. I'll be adding more here very soon this week.

A whole new look, a massive redesign and new content! It's been a long time coming but I am taking my new site layout live today. All the original content is still present in the same location as before. I've added new sections on Movie Making and a section on Mac OS X programming is coming soon.

Please send me email and let me know what you think of the new look.

You'd swear that I fell off the face of the earth recently! Honestly though, it's very tough to keep updating a web page and have a new baby. Not that Justin is a baby any more!

Work continues on movies and other programming for Mac OS X.

May, 2002

We've moved from California back to Ireland, and most of our belongings are in a container somewhere in the Atlantic. So obviously there is going to be no LEGO building for some time. I'm also focussing more on movie work, and will be spending less time on LEGO and electronics and more time in Final Cut Pro.

Not much looks like it is moving here, but believe me there has been a lot of activity under the surface. Having a new baby will suck most of your time away - just try it!

I am learning how to create and edit DV movies from my digital camcorder. Right now I'm working in Final Cut Pro and hopefully can have the movie of our son's birth completed over Christmas.

No new LEGO building has been done, though I started building a LEGO ATM. It is on temporary hold while I focus on movie editing.

On the LEGO front I have built a version of the SHRIMP rover described at the Autonomous Systems Lab at EPFL in Switzerland. Lots of pictures and movies are availabe!
